CU Boulder Scholarships Info:

Donations from private individuals, corporations, foundations, and the University of Colorado are all sources for scholarships. While the donors specify the award criteria, the selection of recipients is made by the appropriate college, school, or department within CU Boulder. Here is a starting point to see scholarships available.

Automatic Consideration
If you completed an admissions application, you have applied for all automatic consideration scholarships! Prospective freshmen and transfer students are automatically awarded scholarships based on the strength of their admissions application. View automatic consideration scholarships for Incoming Freshmen and Transfer Students. Incoming freshman are notified of scholarship selection in their admission offer packet. Transfer students are notified by the Office of Financial Aid. This is not the only type of scholarship available, so students are also encouraged to apply with the CU Boulder Scholarship Application.

CU Boulder Scholarship Application
The CU Boulder Scholarship Application is available year-round through the student portal; however, the majority of scholarships are available to view October 1 – February 15. Prospective students can complete the scholarship application once they have applied for admission. A scholarship committee evaluates submitted applications and selects recipients. Scholarships are highly competitive and award criteria may include academic merit, financial need, extracurricular activities, leadership, or other requirements. In addition to completing the CU Boulder Scholarship Application, students are encouraged to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 15.

Search for additional scholarships through the CU Boulder Scholarship Application
The CU Boulder Scholarship Application includes both a streamlined application for multiple CU scholarships, but it also helps you find additional scholarships to apply for. Scholarships within the CU Boulder Scholarship Application will specify how to apply (including those offered through the general application). To apply using the tool, students will need to log into their student portal (MyCUBoulder for prospective students or MyCUInfo for current students).

Schools and Colleges
CU Boulder schools, colleges, and departments award scholarships to students. Contact them directly for information on scholarship opportunities, application requirements, and deadlines. You will be notified directly by the school, college or department if you receive one of these scholarships.

Campus Programs
CU Boulder offers a variety of programs to enrich your academic career. Many provide scholarships as a component of either participation in or affiliation with their program.

CU Boulder Faculty/Staff Dependent Scholarship Opportunities
CU Boulder faculty and staff members can submit a single application to be considered for up to three different funds designed to support their dependents who are pursuing higher education.

The University of Colorado Boulder is committed to providing an inclusive environment where all individuals can achieve their academic and professional aspirations free from discrimination.
